                               Fully qualified TV Tradesman, over 45 years' experience, over 16,000 appliances serviced, 5000 TV boards in stock, over 1000 draws of spare parts.

                            Average cost Now $180 plus parts. $90 per hr, inflation? Nope, too many lost hrs with enquiries, please keep calls short & to the point.

                             Abbreviated terms for those in a hurry-

                            Texting best, keep calls short & within business hrs, supply details -Brand, Model, fault, suburb*

                             Labour $90 / hr flat rate, no warranties, $180 CASH deposit to inspect & quote optional balance to pay** (parts can be $0 to over $500!)

                             Early pickup or storage fees apply*** Broken screens; often not economical, I can write an insurance report for replacement if covered.

                             I prefer repairs brought to me, callouts $90 /hr + vehicle expenses. See below best drop off & pickup times****

                            Confirm I'm available before dropping in, I do callouts, chase parts etc. 7.30 to 2pm best times to text/call bring in repairs, callouts in afternoons.

                          Can get 20 calls a day! If you get my voicemail, leave a detailed message, Brand, Model, Fault, Suburb etc. If I can help, I will return your call.  

                             NO detailed MESSAGE= NO CALLBACK.  Imagine 15 enquiries while I'm servicing "YOUR" TV. Please keep calls short & to the point!

 

                          **WHY $90 PER HR. Several years ago was $60 per hr, inflation? NOPE! as I became more popular/ busy, got more enquiries = less time for repairs.

                                WHY CASH?  Imagine this, TV arrives 8.30 am & owner insists paying phone pay or bank transfer, I check an hr later - no payment, check 4 hrs later,

                                 if still no payment, check next day etc. Meanwhile 9.30am TV comes in with $180 CASH deposit, I start immediately, REPAIRED 4 hrs later, 2hrs work & 2hrs

                                 enquiries, checking bank deposits etc.  $120 balance to pay for a used main board, ready for pickup, I leave for callouts back by 5 PM, owner picks up after

                                their work at 6pm = SAME DAY SERVCE!  Next day first owner calls, asks if fixed yet?   I reply, " not received deposit yet!!"  Now imagine 4 x TVs all paying

                                bank transfers sitting around until I see deposits... has happened!      NO MORE!! 

                               **WHY NO CREDIT CARDS any expense reduces my wages, I keep my gross business income below $75,000 (means you don't pay GST) &

                                 I do my tax once per year = less office work = more productive hrs= more wages. Processing cards can reduce my wages by $2000 per year so no thanks.

                                  Instead of bank fees I get bank interest!  Where did all the TV repairers go? Excessive overheads = $800+ unaccepted quotes & sent them broke.

                                           All deposits, balances & callouts CASH! If I order expensive parts can pay bank transfer, OSKO ETC. BUT NO CREDIT CARDS.

                         $90/hr flat rate, more work = more costs, if your appliance fails again, I WONT PAY FOR YOUR REPAIRS FROM MY POCKET!   

                             $180 deposit allows 2 hrs to book in job, dismantle, diagnose faulty parts, if in stock & cheap fit & test, if not, get prices / availability, quote

                            optional balance.  Some TVs worth spending money on some not, I will advise accordingly.

                             Do your maths before calling, if you bought a cheap $200 TV what's the point of a 20-minute phone conversation, me explaining why it should not come in.

                            **WHY NO WARRANTY Glad you asked. TVs were once touted as the most reliable domestic product, now most unreliable, why is that?

                             Decades ago 26" TVs cost around 10 weeks wages, with inflation should be now around $20,000 each. People buy a 70" TV with Wi-FI for $2000  

                              & wonder why it only lasted one tenth as long as their old box shaped TV.  Consumers are forcing manufacturers to make cheaper & cheaper TVs.

                             The lower the cost the more they sell! When making 50,000 TVs every $ counts! If the TVs 10% dearer than the others they go broke!

                             Phillips, Panasonic, others pulled out of making domestic TVs, got sick of producing cheap junk that gave bad reviews, you get what you pay for folks! 

                              Got main brand TVs coming in not long out of warranty & you want me to guarantee their operation?  NO THANKS! 

                              Now you could just buy a new TV every few years, but my records show a repaired TV often outlasts a new TV!  Each new model has even more

                              built in obsolescence to keep prices down. So, if I can repair a $2000 TV for $400 it's a NO BRAINER! 

 

 ***EARLY PICKUP REQUIRED       

People drop TVs in & go on holidays! Imagine the space 10 large screen TVs take up? I have perhaps largest TV repair workshop around,

but stuff left here clogs up my workshop, costs me money, costs you money, up to $20 per week for storage. I take no responsibility for

stuff that's stored here.

 ****DROPPING OFF & PICKING UP                    Always call ahead to confirm I am in. 

As a general rule dropping off & picking up is best 7.30am to 2pm Monday to Saturday. If back from callouts/no callouts 2pm to 6.30 pm OK

 

Some fees & charges 

Callouts - tuning channels, wrong buttons pressed etc. from $90 local.

Simple repairs on small TVs -fuses, broken ant. sockets from $120, yes, can return money from $180 deposits if very simple repairs.

Pickups from $60 local. 

                      BACKLIGHT REPAIRS, white dots on screen, replacing single or complete LED sets $290 to $390.

       NOTE * If I replace faulty LEDs & others fail later = more costs! I won't do further work at my expense. Replacing full sets best, but some                                    expensive, can take a month to arrive, some not available!     

 Note* as screens have to be removed & replaced there is a risk of screen failure (some screens glued in) this can write the TV off, you lose

your deposit, I lose time & money invested. New LEDs can be brighter / different than old on​es, causing slight uneven lighting. 

Can't guarantee perfect results every time.

                                         HOW CAN I DO REPAIRS AT LOW COST= LOWER OVERHEADS, I keep it simple, No credit cards. I WORK FOR CASH!

                             No shop rental costs (Large high set house= Large, well-equipped workshop under). No staff wages, I am a sole trader. 

                             I don't pay for advertising, relying on work of mouth for decades. I shop around for best deals on parts, test gear, etc.

                             My gross business income under $75,000 / year you don't pay GST on labour.  

                             Labour rate $90 per hr. averages out to $35 per hr. with enquiries*, office work, interruptions, etc.  And that has to maintain an extensive &

                             expensive stock of spare parts, specialised test gear & large well-equipped workshop. What's left has to support my family & pay the bills.

                             I am so popular/busy I prefer callouts Stafford Heights & surrounding suburbs. But if my time & your budget permits can venture further.

                             *So many enquiries, only a few hrs per day for repairs. PLEASE keep your enquiries short, imagine 15 enquiries while repairing "YOUR" TV.

                                    Have details before you call - Brand, model, screen size, Fault, age  all useful. 

                         

                           

                                   Before you call, keep in mind at $90 per hr some appliances may be cheaper to replace!

                     Some small screen / cheap TVs may not be economical, but a $1,400 TV fixed for $390 is a bargain!   

                            Main focus large screen TVS, some -CRT, VCRs, DVD recorders, PVRs, DVRs, Audio & Arcade monitors/machines.

               I DONT SERVICE- cameras, rear projection TVs, projectors, computer or peripherals, car audio/ video,                                               phones, Pads, printers, white goods, Pinballs, Juke boxes, 2way radios, Typewriters, etc. 

                    Insurance - reports / quotes  $180, storm damage, accidental breakage etc.                        

                                              

                      Remote repairs $60 deposit to inspect, clean, basic servicing. Some may be uneconomical to repair, check online.

             Large, well-equipped workshop, 5000 boards, 1000 drawers of spare part

           Note stuff left here clogs up my workspace, storage fees- small $5, large $10 very large $20 per week.

                    Gear stored at your risk; early pickup recommended!

                    No WARRANTY? -Modern TVs fail regularly, built in obsolescence, repaired TVs can outlast a new one BUT about 1 in 20 will                                                       disappoint, If I repair a TV & more issues occur = More costs! I won't pay for your repairs from my pocket.
